What Happiness Feels Like

There are days when you forget what happiness looks like.
On those days, I hope you read this and imagine a dog,
fluffy furry dog, running to you. Ears flapping, tongue out, tail wagging and legs in midair, jumping, jogging with every might in his body to come to you.
Remember, this is exactly what happiness looks like,
and you know that.

Experience is Key

I am made of Love

I am made of all that surrounds me.
I am not me without
the sound of the waves
crashing on a shore.
I am incomplete without each
sunset and moonrise.
As animals and trees wither,
I grow emptier.
I am only whole if things that
are around me, thrive.
I am made of all that surrounds me.

Origami Flamingo

A piece inspired by wings, vibrance
& a little geometry.

Silly ol' giraffe

Playful giraffe, sandy skies, puffy clouds. I call this a happy piece. In early 2022, I had an (extremely)
up-close encounter with giraffes where I was able to pet and feed the magnificant creature.
I have since been inspired to paint an abstract version of their beauty.

It means no worries

This painting is simple and complex at the same time. Every time I look at it,
I find myself focusing on different parts - how they're so uniquely independent but come together to create a loud abstract on a minimal subject. This painting exudes positivity. It emphasizes on how being you, that one of a kind you - embracing as atypical as you may be, as messy, as eccentric... ultimately translates to being that much happier.
"It means no worries"

Endless Views

My dad and I have always had a deep appreciation for a good view.
Ever since I was 8, i have been beyond grateful to wake up to a view of the river and skyline -
something that instantly reminds me of the depths and realms of the world and brings about a
calming and peaceful effect.

Life's Rubik

In early May, a good friend taught me how to solve a Rubik's cube over the course of 5 hours. It was an intense and challenging process but at the same time, exciting and rewarding. Shortly after, I felt inspired to create a concept painting with
a spin -
little blocks that make up life.

Perspective

TWO PEOPLE MAY BE LOOKING AT THE EXACT SAME THING BUT SEE SOMETHING COMPLETELY DIFFERENT.
THEY FEEL COMPLETELY DIFFERENT.
TO ONE, WHAT THEY SEE BEFORE THEM
IS ALL THERE IS.
TO ANOTHER, THERE IS SO MUCH MORE
TO WHAT THEY SEE.

PERSPECTIVE IS EVERYTHING.

Distinct

This painting conveys multiple meanings within one frame -
IT'S BOLD
IT'S STRANGE
IT BLENDS
IT STANDS OUT
IT'S UNIQUE
IT'S PROUD
IT'S DISTINCT.

Fresh & fun

There isn't much meaning behind a piece like this.
No depth or hidden message.
It's just a fresh combination of bright colours and patterns that fill my heart with so much joy.
And sometimes, that is enough.

Self Portrait

To describe the process in one word - challenging.
I'm not very skilled at portraits but felt like giving it a shot in 2020.
The entire process took over 2 weeks. In the beginning, I looked like an alien and almost gave up.
After about 100 tweaks and retweaks, feedback from family and friends, this was the outcome,
and I have to say I love it!

Patterns; The same but different

Patterns and colours are so powerful. The same pattern over different colours magically convey different emotions and feelings so effortlessly.
The circle of life;
The give and take
The loss and gain
The pleasure and pain

Call it Magic

I made this piece in 2014.
I was 16 at the time.
To me, this painting feels like it came straight out of a fairytale.
Theres vibrance, there's mystery, there's sparkle.

Hide & Seek

I made this piece in 2014.
I was 16 at the time. The kind of painting that can be perceived in a number of ways adding to it's charm. To me, the strongest emotion it projects is mystery.
Is she sad? Is she hiding? Is she shy?
You tell me.

Her Waves

Her waves are unconventional.
some days they BOUNCE OFF HER BACK THE WAY WATER BOUNCES OFF ROCKS. some days they are knotted and messy like crashing currents.
some days they flow like
soft ripples across a lake.

they change the way her feelings do.
but there is something important they have in common;
she IS AT PEACE KNOWING THEY ARE HERS, AND they'll always calm down at the end of the day.

Childhood in Grids

sometimes, disney conveys a message that moves me more than i’d expect.

maybe it’s because of the characters. colourful on the outside. but there’s always more than meets the eye.

This is a tribute to some of the characters i’ve loved as a kid and continue to adore.
